Hunter West Services are committed to meeting the needs and expectations of our clients by the consistent and effective implementation of our Integrated Management System. We provide a quality service offering a range of civil infrastructure services in both the private and public sectors of the industry and aim to do so in a safe manner (as reasonably practicable). We recognise that both client relations and client satisfaction are critical to our company to achieve this outcome. As a small to medium enterpirse, ensuring high quality, environmental and safety standards is critical to enhancing client satisfaction, which in the long term enhances long lasting business relationships and develops Hunter West Service’s status as a trusted civil contractor. At Hunter West Services: 

  • We implement and maintain our quality processes in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
  • We incorporate quality management as an integral part of the risk management strategy
  • We provide the necessary resources including suitably qualified, skilled and experienced peopleto implement and maintain our integrated management system and related processes

This Quality Policy applies to our company and all our workers including subcontractors that work on our behalf and is communicated to all via the induction process. It will undergo review on an annual basis, to ensure that it remains applicable and suitable to our daily business activities and will be made available to relevant interested parties as appropriate.

 

Environmental Policy 

Hunter West Services are committed to the protection of the environment, including prevention of pollution and reduction of environmental impacts on all our work sites. We also aim to ensure continued improvement of our environmental performance. 

We aim to achieve the above commitment through the following:- 

  • Implement and continually improve our environmental processes in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 
  • Setting measurable and realistic objectives and targets 
  • Identifying and managing the environmental aspects and impacts of each work site 
  • Reviewing and complying to all relevant legal, contractual, and other industry specific requirements that are applicable to the project scope of works 
  • Planning and providing for environmental emergencies 
  • Monitor compliance with our Integrated Management System 
  • Monitor our environmental performance 
  • Regular reviews and internal audits of environmental management and implementation on our work sites

Occupational Health & Safety Policy 

Hunter West Services is committed to providing a workplace that enables all work-related activities to be carried out safely and with minimal or no harm to the environment. We will take all reasonable and practicable steps to eliminate or minimise risks to health, safety and welfare of workers, contractors, visitors and any person who may be affected by our operations. 

Hunter West Services is committed to ensure compliance with the Work Health & Safety Act 2011, Work Health & Safety Regulation 2017, and all other relevant industry legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. 

Hunter West Services is committed to measurable and realistic objectives and targets to ensure continued improvement aimed at elimination of workplace injury or illness. 

We aim to achieve the above commitment through the following:- 

  • Implement and continually improve our OH&S processes in accordance with ISO 45001:2018 
  • Implement and maintain processes for the elimination of hazards and reduction of OH&S risks using the hierarchy of controls 
  • Provision of premises, plant and equipment together with systems of work that are safe 
  • Ensure the health and safety of all our workers by providing a suitable environment, and the information, instruction, training and supervision required to carry out the works 
  • Provision of personal protective equipment to all workers 
  • Provision of adequate first aid, emergency procedures and access to appropriately trained personnel 
  • Encourage consultation and participation within the company to promote and maintain safe and healthy conditions for our workers and where they exist, workers’ representatives 
  • Investigate reported hazards promptly 
  • Investigate promptly any accident, incident or near miss and undertake corrective actions as soon as possible 
  • Monitor compliance with our Integrated Management System 
  • Monitor our OHS performance 
  • Regular reviews and internal audits of environmental management and implementation on our work sites
